Oregon Education Association (OEA) Experience
2018-2022
OEA Region I
Vice President
I was elected to two terms as OEA Region I Vice President, representing locals in Region I on the OEA Executive Committee, the OEA Budget Committee, and on the OEA Board. I attended UniServ Council meetings to understand issues facing locals, chaired the Region I meeting at OEA Board meetings and the Region I Caucus at OEA RA, provided communication from OEA to Region I Board Directors, recruited members for OEA Cabinets and Committees, and chaired the Cabinet for the Center for Great Public Schools (which provided member voice in OEA programs like professional development, mediation services, and the OEA Grow Podcast). While on the
OEA Board, I also chaired the Board Trainings
Committee, which identified and developed trainings
to engage OEA Board Directors in equity work, the
duties of a board, conflict resolution, and more.
2016-2024
ABAR and LGBTQ+
workshops
I have been invited by a number of locals as well as the New Educators of Oregon Network (NEON) to facilitate Anti-Bias Anti-Racist (ABAR) and LGBTQ+ Information and Rights workshops for members. I've also facilitated those workshops as sessions at numerous OEA conferences. I'm so proud of the work that members have done in those sessions and beyond as we continue to strive to interrupt racism in our schools, our union, and our larger society.

2015-present
Other experience within OEA
I served on the OEA Human and Civil Rights Committee as a member and then as chair from 2016-2018, I received the OEA Ed Elliott Human Rights Award at the 2018 OEA RA, I served on the joint staff/governance OEA Equity Team from 2019-2022, I have attended and presented (and learned SO much) from numerous OEA conferences and events, I've been an OEA RA delegate since 2015, a member of of the LGBTQ+ Caucus since 2016, and I served on the Measure 97 Political Cadre (I worked with OEA staff to lead member phone banks throughout the 2016 Fall election season).
